Gypsy 05 Women’s Summer 2011 - OBSESSED with their new video. One of the lines I’ve been representing since September 2010. The line is just that, “Made by Gypsy’s” as was quoted by the designer, Osi, in an interview in 2009 with S.N.O.B fashion at Project in Las Vegas. The line is exactly like their owners: Free spirited, bright, colorful and slightly whimsical at times. :) It’s the next big thing so keep an eye out.

A new Wicker Park bar called The Bedford, which aims to open next month, uses original 1920’s bank materials for design build-out. I am personally excited for it to open only because its a block away from me. :) The former MB Bank building in the Polish Triangle (pigeon triangle, homeless triangle,or the Wicker Park triangle as some may call it.) at the intersections of Division, Ashland and Milwaukee has had a few changes to it interiors lately. Not only will The Bedford be open soon, but last month our new CVS opened! I know what your thinking… its a cvs. Keep an eye out for my next post and pictures of this NOT so typical CVS. ANYWAY, The Bedford, not only a bar, but also a restaurant! :) Not quite sure how the menu will look but I cant wait to find out! As soon as it opens get ready for pictures! :)

NEW YEAR / NEW LOOK

If you have not heard about Alternative Apparel, well, then it’s about time! Alternative Apparel is the direct competitor to American Apparel. Where American Apparel’s growth has been mainly through it’s somewhat softporn like ads, which over shadows the great amount of work they do in efforts to provide all of their employees with fair pay and benefits —- Alternative has climbed the ladder for a really simple fact… GREAT PRODUCTS! Specializing in blank tees that are adorned by movie and music stars, Alternative strives to deliver the most comfortable products developed from the best material out there, but not only that, green friendly as well.

For years this great company has been producing some really great clothing and accessories, and we speak from experience, we not only wear their products but also used them for screen-printing as well. However, the problem that has always bugged us, and left that annoying itch, is that their logo and branding, never really spoke about the company in any shape or form. The previous logo looked more like a throwback to NINTENDO then a grassroots earthy apparel company. The new logo finally does that, it can be seen in their website, video, and in a cool little window featured on site that goes into a brief description of what their new logo is all about —- check it out!

As a rep for Alternative Apparel I was very excited to come across the article on racked.com for the Veruca Salt Mens event! Not only is a ton of Alternative sold in store for both men and women, we were also one of the sponsors for the event! Loved that I came across this!

Home Sweet Home Cincinnati.

I’m so proud of my home town! :) Finally, Cincinnati has caught up with everyone else. TONS of housing is coming downtown on the river front with restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops and access to the new Cincinnati Streetcar! Now, I’m not saying there has never been any of this downtown Cincy before. I love the quaint shopping on 5th ave. (Saks, Macy’s, Brooks Brothers, Tiffany & Co. etc. and the MANY restaurants around Fountain Square.) Not to mention the fantastic farmers markets at Findlay Market. The Banks on the river front just brings a whole new experience to downtown Cincinnati. Especially after a Reds or Bengals game! I cant wait for all the other phases of the banks to be built and really show those naysayers. Also, giving some props to the beautiful new Great American Tower.

Out with the Old and in with the New.

Although we will miss the ORIGINAL underground wonder bar I’m happy to see they have found a new home at 625. N. Dearborn! I actually visited recently and although MUCH smaller than the original, it still has the same great vibe! As for the old location on Walton between Rush and State Streets, those older buildings are coming down making way for the new Bridal branch of Anthropology. I think it will fit right in sitting across from the new glamorous Elysian. No more gross old run down buildings for those tenants to look at everytime they come home.
